The 'Affordable' Guarantee
Affordable Houses Ltd provides our customers with implied warranties that automatically cover almost all aspects of residential building work, regardless of the cost of the project or whether there is a written contract. These warranties apply for up to 10 years and cover areas such as compliance with building codes, good workmanship, timely completion of building work, and the use of suitable materials.
We also offer a 12-month defect repair period, during which the builder is obligated to fix any defects that arise in the building work. To help customers understand what constitutes a defect, the company provides a guide to tolerances, materials, and workmanship in new residential construction
If a breach of the implied warranties occurs, customers can seek legal advice and may have the option to have another tradesperson repair the work at the original contractor's expense. The original contractor may also have to pay for any loss of value to the customer's home or reimburse the customer for faulty building work. In some cases, customers may be able to cancel their contract, but legal advice is recommended before doing so.
